CHEST (Collective enHanced Environment for Social Tasks) is a 30 month Collaborative project co-financed with support from the European Commission through Framework Programme 7.

The aim of the project is to promote the development of  digital based innovations that have the potential to address key societal challenges. In addition to the creation of an online community platform that will facilitate the sharing and exchanging of ideas, CHEST will invest up to €2.5 Million in highly innovative ideas through the launch of two open funding rounds. Social entrepreneurs will be invited to not only propose new ideas with the potential to receive support but also evaluate and discuss the ideas of others with highest rated projects selected for funding.

Call 2 winners announced

5 projects have been selected for support under Call 2 – call for partners. The winning projects seek to address a range of societal challenges from mental health through to traffic management and electronic re-use. Click here for details of the projects supported

35 project ideas supported at Call 1, each receiving up to €6K in seed finance

A range of fantastic project ideas have been supported, from an app to facilitate the daily mobility of people with special needs through to ecommerce platforms for food waste reduction. All innovative, All addressing key societal challenges. Full details can be found here.

The third call for the CHEST competition was launched on the 31st July 2014 with up to €60k to be awarded to successful projects.

The call is open to both new applicants as well as those projects supported under Call 1 Deadline for submissions: 17.00 CET on the 30th September 2014
